PERSONALITY

See us at a trade show, convention or just out and about?  Come say hello! It’s the people we connect with that make what we do special.

Casper Bedacht founded and ran a letter shop in Cincinnati: Spee-D Letter Service

Jerry moved into a larger space, operated several multi-color presses, and renamed the business Ohio Valley Litho-Color, Inc.

Tom outgrew the basement operation and moved the shop into a building on Cheviot Road in Cincinnati, OH.

Prioritizing industry-best equipment, Tom bought a 3M Scothprint with electrostatic technology. This forced GCI into a larger space in Ross, OH with 12K sq ft. GCI specialized in retail-style POP graphics at the time, then added vehicle wraps and banners to their arsenal.

GCI took off quickly. Tom and TJ began dabbling in wholesale graphics for trade locally and cut back on door to door retail print jobs.

GCI transitioned from a focus on POP graphics to honing their craft of Banner, Mesh, and Wraps.

Tom and TJ bounced back and upgraded to their current 30K sq ft building on Winton Road in Cincinnati, OH.

Tom and TJ armed GCI with an amazing, skilled staff and industry-best equipment. GCI is running itself, allowing TJ to focus on growing the business and spending time with his family. Tom passed the family business down to TJ, and though you’re unlikely to see him at the shop these days, Tom is still involved. Today, GCI serves customers nationwide, produces millions of sq.ft. banners and mesh per year, and additionally offers rigid substrate graphics, vehicle wraps, and more. The team is firing on all cylinders ready to take the industry by storm!

Grayson, TJ’s son, already enjoys learning the ropes around the shop!

Casper passed the business down to his son, Jerry Bedacht.

Jerry’s son, Tom Bedacht – used the bloodline’s decades of expertise to start his own print shop out of his basement. He named the business GCI: Graphic Correction, Inc.

The company name changes to GCI Digital Imaging and is running laser master printers and 48” water-based ink printers. At this time, GCI was mainly poster printing and mounting paper to polystyrene for POP graphic displays.

Tom’s son, TJ Bedacht, graduates high school and starts working full time at GCI. He wore many hats: selling, producing, installing, and delivering.

Tom and TJ moved to a 6,500 sq ft space in Mount Healthy where they spent the next 12 years – some of the most formative years for the business.

Like most small businesses in 2008, GCI felt the weight of the recession. They struggled through economic hardship and battled to keep the company afloat.

When COVID-19 was testing small businesses, GCI scaled back staff and product offerings to ensure they were able to stay safe and serve their customers. 3 staff members ran production of Coroplast, Mesh, and Banner – printing and shipping out of Cincinnati Headquarters.
